The Retreat

Wattletree House is like a soothing cocoon in nature, nourishing, replenishing and restoring energy on all levels. A log cabin, set in amongst beautiful trees, you can relax in the tranquillity of this peaceful location and self direct your activities - or ask us about meditation and mindfulness services that can be personally tailored to suit you.

For Everyone:

Immerse yourself in the nurturing surrounds of Warburton and the Yarra Valley. Listen and connect to the sound of a little spring flowing on Wattletree House or take a short stroll to the visually beautiful and lush Yarra River.

A short wander to the centre of this quaint town brings an abundant selection of treats from Warburton’s local cafes and restaurants. The retreat being within the Yarra Valley is only a short drive from a selection of gorgeous boutique wineries.

Be still and watch the array of colorful birdlife greet you with song or just cozy up indoors and read a good book.

In winter you may choose to escape to the snowy wonderland of Mount Donna Buang which is only a 20 minute drive away; toast marshmallows on the summits hut in its open fire, build a snowman and play then return to the warmth of Wattletree’s wood fire.

For Bereavement & Trauma Respite:

Life can present many challenges for all of us. Some are ongoing, or may come suddenly in the form of crisis and trauma. While there are a number of ways to deal with such challenges, we often underestimate the importance and healing qualities of simply ‘being in nature’ and taking time to walk, reflect, relax and allow the flow of nature to nourish self and soul.

Wattletree House offers such a space. It is available for carers (see below), and for those struggling with life events and those who simply need some time and a suitable environment to replenish. Apart from relaxing and simply ‘being there’ in its quiet and reclusive location, there are also relaxation, meditation, and other services available.

The Yarra River is nearby, as well as many other short and long walks in lovely settings. The Warburton Township (with its diverse cafes and shops) is only 5 minute drive with Mt. Donna Buang (with snow in winter) only 20 minutes. This is a lovely, peaceful, place to be.

For Carers:

Sometimes the very nature of life places extra responsibilities and challenges upon us. Whether that is because a family member is unwell or we work in the area of trauma, our energy or self care routine falls to the lowest priority. Or quite simply we run out of time or ways to structure our time so that the qualities of this essential element are met in our lives.

Wattletree House offers a way to structure self care and provides the opportunity to reenergize and return to life’s daily routines with renewed perspective and calm.
