Life Is... Philosophy
In its project development, the Foundation relies on evidence based research and practice[1], and approaches the complexity of the issues involved in a balanced and pragmatic manner.
In all of its activities, the Foundation anchors its work in a constructive, strength based philosophy and recognises that positive primary relationships and connection to wider social and community networks is a key protective mechanism for children and young people as well as for adults[2]. Therefore, in implementing its aims, the Foundation strongly emphasises the importance of education, strengthening positive relationships, purposeful living, and community connection.

[2] The Living Is For Everyone (LIFE) Framework is Australia’s national framework for suicide prevention and is the latest in a series of national suicide prevention initiatives that began in the early 1990s. It provides a national strategy for action based on the best available evidence to guide activities aimed at reducing the rate at which people take their own lives.
